How to Throw a Sinker Pitch?

Grip the ball with your index and middle fingers along or just inside the seams

Place the thumb underneath the ball for support

Hold the ball slightly off-center toward the inside of the hand

Use a two-seam grip if possible

Keep your wrist firm and slightly pronated at release

Throw with fastball arm speed

Release the ball with fingers on top and slightly to the side

Aim to create downward and arm-side movement

Focus on staying behind the ball until late in the throw

Follow through naturally after release

Practice consistent release point

Work on maintaining good mechanics and control

Start at reduced effort before throwing full speed

Use a catcher or target to track movement and location

Avoid forcing the ball to sink by over-twisting the wrist

Throw under supervision if learning new pitching mechanics
