Start with the wide end on the right side and the narrow end on the left side.
Cross the wide end over the narrow end.
Wrap the wide end under the narrow end.
Bring the wide end up through the loop between the collar and the knot.
Pass the wide end down across the front of the knot toward the left side.
Wrap the wide end behind the narrow end on the left side.
Bring the wide end back up through the loop between the collar and the knot.
Cross the wide end over the front again toward the right side.
Tuck the wide end down through the loop in front of the knot (the second loop).
Pull the wide end through and tighten by sliding the knot up toward the collar.
Adjust the knot and collar snugly; straighten the tie ends.
