Turn on both iPhones and connect them to Wi-Fi
Sign in to the same Apple ID on both devices
Open Settings on the old iPhone
Tap your name
Tap iCloud
Turn on Contacts
Open Settings on the new iPhone
Tap your name
Tap iCloud
Turn on Contacts
Wait for the contacts to sync automatically
If prompted, choose Merge
Use Quick Start during setup to transfer data directly from the old iPhone to the new iPhone
Keep both iPhones close together during the transfer
Use AirDrop to send individual contacts from one iPhone to another
Open the Contacts app on the old iPhone
Select a contact
Tap Share Contact
Choose AirDrop
Select the new iPhone
Use a computer and iCloud.com to export and import contacts if needed
Back up the old iPhone to iCloud or a computer before transferring
