Turn on your new iPhone and place it near your old iPhone
Make sure both iPhones are connected to Wi-Fi and have enough battery
Keep your old iPhone unlocked
Follow the Quick Start prompt on your old iPhone
Scan the animation on your new iPhone with your old iPhone
Enter your old iPhone passcode on the new iPhone
Set up Face ID or Touch ID
Choose how to transfer your data
Select Transfer from iPhone or download from iCloud backup
Keep both devices near each other until the transfer finishes
Sign in with your Apple ID if prompted
Check that your apps, photos, messages, and settings transferred correctly
If needed, transfer SIM or activate eSIM on the new iPhone
Remove your old iPhone from your Apple ID if you are done using it
