How to Transfer Timeline from DaVinci to After Effects?

In DaVinci Resolve, go to the Edit page

Select the timeline you want to transfer

Export the timeline as an XML file: File > Export > Timeline > Final Cut Pro XML

Save the XML file in a known location

Export any needed media if your clips are not already accessible to After Effects

Open Adobe After Effects

Go to File > Import > File

Select the exported XML file

If prompted, choose the appropriate import options

Check that the timeline, clips, and basic cuts are imported correctly

Relink any missing media if necessary

Recreate unsupported effects, transitions, and titles manually in After Effects

If you need a cleaner round-trip, render individual clips or use an interchange format before importing

For better compatibility, consider exporting an AAF or EDL from DaVinci if XML does not work as expected
