Use a humane live trap designed for cats
Wear gloves and long sleeves
Place the trap in a quiet, shaded area
Bait the trap with strong-smelling food like tuna, sardines, or wet cat food
Set the trap on a flat, stable surface
Cover the trap with a towel or blanket, leaving the entrance clear
Leave the trap where the cat regularly visits
Check the trap frequently, at least every 15 to 30 minutes
Do not leave the trap unattended for long periods
Once the cat is trapped, cover the trap fully to reduce stress
Move the trap carefully and keep it level
Take the cat to a veterinarian, shelter, or TNR program as soon as possible
