Drink cool fluids and stay hydrated
Eat soft, bland foods
Use over-the-counter oral pain relief gels or rinses as directed
Take acetaminophen or ibuprofen if needed and safe for you
Avoid touching, picking, or irritating the sore
Practice good oral hygiene with a soft toothbrush
Avoid kissing, sharing utensils, or oral contact until healed
Get medical advice if the sore is severe, frequent, lasts more than 2 weeks, or you have a weakened immune system
