Apply the antifungal exactly as directed on the label
Continue treatment for the full recommended time, even if it looks better
Wash your hands after touching the rash
Avoid scratching the area
Do not share towels, clothing, combs, or bedding
Wash clothing, towels, and bedding regularly in hot water if possible
Wear loose, breathable clothing
Keep pets checked and treated if they may be the source
Clean and disinfect surfaces that may be contaminated
Avoid using steroid creams unless a doctor tells you to
See a doctor if it spreads, gets worse, or does not improve after treatment
See a doctor sooner if it affects the scalp, nails, face, or groin
Seek medical care if there is severe redness, swelling, pus, or fever
