Get out of the sun immediately
Cool the skin with a cool bath or shower
Apply cool, damp compresses to the burned areas
Use aloe vera gel or a fragrance-free moisturizer
Drink plenty of water
Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen if needed for pain
Avoid popping blisters
Wear loose, soft clothing
Stay out of the sun until healed
Use sunscreen and protective clothing once you go outside again
Seek medical care if you have severe blistering, fever, dizziness, confusion, or signs of infection
