Wash and dry your beard
Comb or brush it to remove tangles

Use a beard trimmer with the proper guard
Trim with the grain first
Start with a longer guard and go shorter if needed
Trim the cheeks and neckline carefully
Define the neckline above the Adam’s apple
Trim the mustache so it does not cover the lips
Check both sides for evenness
Use scissors for stray or longer hairs
Clean up the edges with no guard if needed
Rinse off loose hairs and apply beard oil or balm
