Gather hoof trimmers, gloves, and a clean area
Restrain the goat securely
Lift one leg at a time
Clean dirt and manure from the hoof
Identify the sole, heel, and hoof wall
Trim overgrown hoof wall evenly
Remove excess sole only until level with the hoof wall
Trim heel bulbs if needed
Shape the hoof so it is flat and balanced
Check for cracks, rot, or infection
Stop if bleeding starts
Repeat on all four hooves
Disinfect tools after use
Monitor the goat for soreness or lameness
