Hold the ukulele in playing position
Identify the strings from top to bottom as G, C, E, A
Use a clip-on tuner, phone tuner, or tuning app
Pluck the top string and tune it to G
Pluck the next string and tune it to C
Pluck the next string and tune it to E
Pluck the bottom string and tune it to A
Turn the tuning pegs slowly until each string matches the target note
Recheck all strings after tuning
Repeat until the tuning stays stable
Tune before each practice or performance
