Put AirPods Max in the Smart Case
Leave them outside the Smart Case for a few minutes to enter low power mode
Remove the headphones from your head and let them idle
Turn off Bluetooth on your device if you want to disconnect them
Unpair AirPods Max from your device if you want them fully disconnected
