Check your keyboard for an Fn Lock key or padlock icon
Press Fn + Esc to toggle Fn Lock
Press Fn + Caps Lock if your keyboard uses that shortcut
Press Fn + Num Lock if your keyboard uses that shortcut
Enter BIOS or UEFI settings during startup
Look for Action Keys Mode, Hotkey Mode, or Function Key Behavior
Set the function keys to standard F1–F12 mode
Save changes and restart the computer
Check your laptop manufacturer’s keyboard utility or control app
Update or reinstall the keyboard driver if the setting is missing
