Specify which bureau to unfreeze if you want to keep the others frozen
Choose a temporary thaw period if you only need access for a lender or landlord
Confirm the freeze has been lifted before applying for credit
Save the confirmation number or email for your records
Re-freeze your credit after you finish if you want continued protection
