Open Instagram
Go to the profile of the account whose story you want to unmute
Tap Following or the Following button
Tap Mute
Turn off the Story mute toggle
Go back to your home feed to see their stories again
If needed, tap and hold their story from the story tray
Select Unmute Story
Check that the account is no longer muted in your settings if the story still does not appear
