Read the BIOS update notes and compatibility requirements
Download the correct BIOS file for your exact motherboard model
Download the manufacturer’s BIOS update utility if required
Save the BIOS file to a FAT32-formatted USB drive if the method requires it
Back up important data before updating
Restore BIOS settings to default if recommended by the manufacturer
Connect the system to reliable power or use a UPS
Enter the BIOS/UEFI setup during startup
Open the built-in BIOS update tool
Select the BIOS file from the USB drive or storage location
Confirm the update and do not power off the system during the process
Wait for the update to complete and the system to restart
Enter BIOS/UEFI again after reboot
Load optimized defaults if required
Reapply custom settings such as boot order, XMP/EXPO, fan curves, and virtualization
Save changes and exit
Verify the new BIOS version after startup
