Fill the bottom chamber with cold water up to the fill line
Place the coffee basket and stem into the pot
Add coarse ground coffee to the basket
Level the grounds without packing them down
Assemble the percolator securely
Place the percolator on a stove or heat source
Heat until the water begins to percolate
Reduce heat to maintain a gentle perking
Percolate for about 7 to 10 minutes
Remove from heat when the coffee reaches desired strength
Let the coffee settle for a minute
Carefully remove the basket and grounds
Pour and serve the coffee
