How To Use A Sharpening Rod?

Hold the sharpening rod firmly with the tip resting on a stable surface or in the air, away from your body

Place the knife heel against the rod at a consistent angle, usually about 15 to 20 degrees

Draw the blade down and across the rod from heel to tip in a smooth motion

Repeat on the other side of the blade, alternating sides evenly

Use light pressure and maintain the same angle for each stroke

Make 5 to 10 strokes per side or until the edge feels aligned

Wipe the blade clean after sharpening

Clean and store the sharpening rod safely after use
