Gather the caulk gun, caulk tube, utility knife, and a damp cloth
Cut the caulk tube tip at a 45-degree angle
Puncture the inner seal of the tube
Pull back the caulk gun plunger
Insert the caulk tube into the gun
Push the plunger forward until it fits snugly against the tube
Place the angled tip at the seam or gap
Squeeze the trigger slowly to start the flow
Move the gun steadily along the joint
Keep even pressure on the trigger
Release the trigger at the end of the bead
Smooth the caulk bead if needed
Wipe off excess caulk immediately
Release the plunger pressure after use
Remove the tube and clean the gun if necessary
