Wash your hands before handling the nebulizer
Assemble the nebulizer parts according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Measure the prescribed medicine and place it in the nebulizer cup
Attach the mouthpiece or mask securely
Sit upright in a comfortable position
Turn on the nebulizer
Breathe in slowly and deeply through your mouth
Hold each breath for a few seconds if possible
Continue until the medicine is gone
Turn off the machine when finished
Rinse your mouth after using the nebulizer if instructed
Clean and dry all parts after each use
Use only the medicine prescribed for your cough
Follow the dosage and schedule given by your doctor
Seek medical help if breathing worsens or symptoms do not improve
