Download Skype from the official website or app store
Install Skype on your device
Open Skype
Sign in with your Microsoft account
Create a new account if you do not have one
Allow microphone and camera permissions
Add a profile picture if desired
Search for contacts by name, email, phone number, or Skype ID
Send a contact request
Wait for the contact to accept your request
Select a contact from your contact list
Click the chat icon to send a message
Type your message
Press Enter or tap Send
Click the phone icon to start an audio call
Click the video camera icon to start a video call
Use the microphone button to mute or unmute yourself
Use the camera button to turn video on or off
Use the screen sharing button to share your screen
Use the chat box during calls to send messages or files
Click the red end-call button to end a call
Click the plus or attachment icon to send files
Create a group chat by selecting multiple contacts
Start a group call from a group chat
Adjust audio and video settings in Settings
Set your status to Available, Away, Do Not Disturb, or Invisible
Add Skype credit if you want to call mobile or landline numbers
Sign out when finished if using a shared device
