Unplug the heated blanket and disconnect all cords and controllers

Check the care label and follow the manufacturer’s washing instructions

If machine washable, use a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water

Use a mild detergent

Wash the blanket alone or with similar lightweight items

Do not use bleach or fabric softener

Do not wring, twist, or scrub the blanket

If hand washing, gently agitate the blanket in cool water and detergent

Rinse thoroughly until all soap is removed

Gently press out excess water without twisting

Tumble dry on low heat only if the label allows it

Remove while slightly damp and air dry if recommended

Do not iron the heated blanket

Do not dry clean unless the manufacturer says it is safe

Make sure the blanket is completely dry before plugging it back in

Inspect for damage before using it again
