Unplug the electric blanket and disconnect the controller and cords
Check the care label and follow the manufacturer’s washing instructions
Inspect the blanket for damage, frayed wires, or worn spots before washing
If machine washing is allowed, use a gentle or delicate cycle with cold or lukewarm water
Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach, fabric softener, or harsh chemicals
Wash the blanket alone or with very few lightweight items
Do not wring, twist, or aggressively scrub the blanket
If hand washing is allowed, soak gently in cool water with mild detergent
Rinse thoroughly until all detergent is removed
If machine drying is allowed, tumble dry on low heat or air dry as directed
If air drying, lay the blanket flat or hang it evenly to dry
Make sure the blanket is completely dry before reconnecting the controller
Do not iron the blanket
Do not dry clean unless the manufacturer specifically allows it
Store the blanket loosely folded in a dry place when not in use
