Check the care label before washing
Remove the cover if the blanket has one
Spot clean small stains first
Use a large-capacity washer if the blanket is machine washable
Wash on a gentle or delicate cycle
Use cold or lukewarm water
Use mild detergent
Avoid bleach and fabric softener
Wash the blanket alone or with similar soft items
Do not overload the washer
If the blanket is too heavy, hand wash it in a bathtub or large tub
Rinse thoroughly if hand washing
Press out excess water gently
Do not wring or twist the blanket
Dry on low heat if the care label allows machine drying
Use air drying if recommended or if the blanket is very heavy
Lay flat or hang evenly to dry
Flip or reposition during drying to help it dry evenly
Make sure the blanket is completely dry before use
Clean the cover separately if applicable
