How to Work a Record Player?

Place the record player on a flat, stable surface

Connect the power cord

Connect speakers or turn on built-in speakers

Remove the dust cover if needed

Clean the record with a carbon fiber brush

Hold the record by the edges and center label

Place the record on the turntable platter

Select the correct speed, usually 33 1/3 or 45 RPM

Lift the tonearm using the cue lever

Move the tonearm over the record

Lower the stylus onto the record using the cue lever

Adjust the volume to a comfortable level

Let the record play through

Lift the tonearm when the record ends

Return the tonearm to its rest

Remove the record from the platter

Store the record in its sleeve

Turn off the record player

Keep the stylus and records clean

Avoid touching the stylus

Keep the record player away from vibration and heat
