Write the dollar amount in words on the line after “Pay to the order of”
Start with the whole dollar amount
Write the cents as a fraction over 100
Use “and” between dollars and cents
Write the amount clearly and legibly
Example: “One hundred twenty-three and 45/100”
If there are no cents, write “and 00/100”
Draw a line through any unused space after the amount
