Install a Malayalam keyboard on your phone
On Android, go to Settings and add Malayalam in Language and input
On iPhone, go to Settings, then General, then Keyboard, then Add New Keyboard, and choose Malayalam
Open WhatsApp
Tap the chat box
Switch to the Malayalam keyboard
Type in Malayalam using the keyboard
If needed, use transliteration by typing English letters and selecting Malayalam words
