Open Gmail
Open the email from the sender you want to block
Click the three-dot menu in the top-right of the message
Select Block sender
Click Block to confirm
To unblock, open the message or a message from that sender
Click the three-dot menu
Select Unblock sender
Click Unblock to confirm
