How to Kill Nutsedge?

Hand-pull young plants when soil is moist, removing as many tubers as possible

Mow or trim regularly to prevent seed production

Improve drainage and avoid overwatering

Water deeply but infrequently to encourage turfgrass roots

Maintain dense, healthy turf or ground cover to crowd it out

Dig out infestations carefully, removing all visible nutlets and rhizomes

Apply a labeled post-emergent herbicide for nutsedge

Use halosulfuron, sulfentrazone, or bentazon if appropriate for your lawn or crop

Repeat herbicide applications as directed on the label

Apply pre-emergent control where labeled and appropriate

Dispose of pulled plants and tubers in the trash, not compost

Clean tools and footwear after working in infested areas

Monitor the area regularly and treat new shoots promptly
