Gather staves, two barrel heads, metal hoops, and wood glue
Cut the staves to equal length and shape their edges for a tight fit
Arrange the staves in a circle to form the barrel body
Secure the staves temporarily with a hoop
Heat and bend the staves if needed to create the barrel curve
Fit and secure additional hoops around the body
Cut grooves near both ends for the barrel heads
Shape the barrel heads to fit into the grooves
Insert the barrel heads into place
Tighten all hoops to hold the barrel together
Trim and sand the barrel edges
Seal the barrel if needed for its intended use
