Open Discord and go to the server, channel, or DM where you want to send a GIF
Click the GIF button in the message box
Search for a GIF using keywords
Select the GIF you want
Send the GIF
To upload a GIF from your device, click the plus icon next to the message box
Choose Upload a File
Select the GIF file from your device
Click Open
Send the file
To make your own GIF, use a GIF maker or editor
Import images or video clips into the GIF maker
Edit the frames, timing, and size
Export the file as a GIF
Upload the finished GIF to Discord
To create a GIF from a screen recording, record the clip first
Convert the video to GIF using a converter or editor
Save the GIF file
Upload it to Discord
To use a GIF from a link, copy the GIF URL
Paste the link into Discord
Send the message
Make sure the link ends in .gif or is supported by Discord
To make a GIF work properly on Discord, keep the file size reasonable
Use a supported format
Check that the GIF is not too large to upload
