Place the club in a normal playing position on a flat surface
Ensure the sole of the club sits flush to the ground
Use a 48-inch ruler or measuring tape
Start measuring at the end of the grip cap
Measure along the back side of the shaft
Follow the shaft line down to the ground
Stop at the point where the clubhead sole meets the ground
Record the measurement in inches
Use the same method each time for consistency
Check the measurement against the club’s stated length if needed
