Disconnect all power sources and discharge capacitors
Inspect the board for charring, lifted pads, cracked traces, and damaged components
Clean the affected area with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush
Remove loose carbonized material with a fiberglass pen or fine scraper
Cut away severely burnt sections of the PCB if necessary
Repair damaged traces with jumper wire or conductive trace repair material
Rebuild lifted or missing pads with pad repair kits or copper foil
Replace all burnt or heat-damaged components
Check nearby components for hidden damage and replace if needed
Test continuity and shorts with a multimeter
Recoat exposed repaired areas with solder mask or insulating epoxy
Reassemble and power up slowly using a current-limited supply
Monitor temperature, voltage, and current during testing
Replace the entire board if damage is extensive or structural integrity is compromised
