Loosen and remove the broken or old string
Insert the string ball end into the bridge or tailpiece
Pull the string through until the ball end seats securely
Guide the string along the bridge, nut, and tuning post path
Thread the string through the tuning post hole
Leave a small amount of slack for winding
Wind the tuning peg to tighten the string
Keep the wraps neat and downward on the post
Tune the string to pitch
Stretch the string gently and retune as needed
