Gather hair tinsel, a rat-tail comb, a small crochet hook or loop tool, and scissors
Choose a small section of dry, clean hair near the roots
Separate one or two strands from the section
Fold a piece of tinsel in half
Use the hook or loop tool to pull the folded tinsel through the hair strands
Pull the loose ends of the tinsel through the folded loop to secure it
Gently tighten the knot close to the scalp
Repeat with more strands if desired
Trim the tinsel to match your hair length
Avoid using heat directly on the tinsel
Remove by sliding the knot out or cutting the tinsel close to the knot
