Open the Photo Booth app
Click the red camera button to take a photo
Use the built-in FaceTime camera if available
Open the Camera app in any supported app
Use QuickTime Player and choose File > New Movie Recording
Click the record button to capture a frame or image
Use Preview to import from a connected camera or iPhone
Press Shift + Command + 5 to open Screenshot tools
Select a screen capture option
Press Shift + Command + 3 to capture the full screen
Press Shift + Command + 4 to capture a selected area
Use third-party camera apps from the Mac App Store
Connect an external webcam or camera if needed
