Thread the fishing line through the hook eye
Pull 6 to 12 inches of line through the eye
Hold the hook and doubled line together
Wrap the tag end around the standing line 5 to 7 times
Pass the tag end back through the loop near the hook eye
Moisten the knot with water or saliva
Pull the tag end and standing line to tighten the knot
Slide the knot snug against the hook eye
Trim the excess tag end close to the knot
