Double about 6 inches of line to form a loop
Pass the loop through the eye of the hook or lure
Tie an overhand knot with the doubled line, leaving the hook or lure hanging loose
Do not tighten the knot yet
Pull the loop down and pass it over the hook or lure
Moisten the knot
Pull both ends of the line to tighten
Trim the tag end
