Find a large, empty, private, legal area with good traction and no pedestrians, traffic, or obstacles
Wear a seat belt and make sure the vehicle is in good working condition
Turn off traction control or stability control if your vehicle requires it for controlled wheelspin
Use a rear-wheel-drive vehicle if possible
Start from a complete stop
Turn the steering wheel sharply in one direction
Apply enough throttle to break rear traction
Keep the front wheels turned while modulating throttle to maintain the circle
Countersteer as needed to control the slide
Ease off the throttle if the car starts to spin too fast
Stop by straightening the wheel and gently reducing throttle
Avoid doing this on public roads, in traffic, or on surfaces with people nearby
Do not attempt if you are inexperienced or unsure of control
Follow local laws and property rules
