Park on a level surface and turn off the engine
Let the engine cool completely
Disconnect the negative battery terminal if needed
Locate the belt routing diagram
Inspect the serpentine belt for cracks, fraying, or glazing
Identify the belt tensioner
Use the correct wrench or belt tool to relieve tension
Slip the belt off one pulley
Route the new belt around the pulleys according to the diagram
Keep the belt seated in all pulley grooves
Leave the easiest pulley for last
Relieve the tensioner again
Slide the belt onto the last pulley
Slowly release the tensioner
Check that the belt is centered on every pulley
Verify the belt is routed correctly
Reconnect the battery terminal if disconnected
Start the engine and observe the belt briefly
Shut off the engine and recheck alignment if needed
