Get out of the sun immediately
Take a cool bath or shower
Apply cool, wet compresses to the burned skin
Use aloe vera gel or a fragrance-free moisturizer
Drink plenty of water
Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen as directed on the label
Wear loose, soft clothing
Avoid popping blisters
Avoid further sun exposure until healed
Use a gentle, fragrance-free soap
Apply a hydrocortisone cream if appropriate and directed
Keep the skin moisturized
Seek medical care for severe burns, fever, dehydration, or large blisters
