Cool the area with cool running water or a cool compress
Apply aloe vera gel or a fragrance-free moisturizer
Do not pop, peel, or pick at the blisters
Keep the blisters clean and dry
Cover with a loose, nonstick sterile bandage if needed
Take over-the-counter pain relief such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen if appropriate
Drink plenty of water
Avoid more sun exposure until healed
Wear loose, soft clothing over the area
Use a gentle soap and pat the skin dry
Seek medical care if blisters are widespread, very painful, infected, or on the face, hands, genitals, or near the eyes
Seek medical care if you have fever, chills, dizziness, nausea, or signs of dehydration
