Choose bone-in pork chops, about 1 to 1.5 inches thick
Pat the pork chops dry
Season both sides with salt, pepper, and any preferred spices
Let the pork chops sit at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes
Preheat the oven to 400°F
Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat
Add a little oil to the skillet
Sear the pork chops for 2 to 3 minutes per side
Transfer the skillet to the oven
Bake until the internal temperature reaches 145°F
Remove the pork chops from the oven
Let them rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving
Brush with butter or pan juices before serving
Avoid overbaking to keep the pork chops moist
