Harvest in the morning when leaves are crisp and cool
Use clean, sharp scissors or a knife
Cut outer leaves first for leaf lettuce
Cut the whole head at the base for head lettuce
Leave about 1 to 2 inches of the plant above the soil if you want it to regrow
Avoid cutting into the crown if you want continued growth
Remove damaged or yellow leaves
Rinse the lettuce after cutting
Store it in a cool place right away
