Turn off the water supply
Drain the hose completely
Locate the leak, crack, or split
Cut out the damaged section if needed
Trim the hose ends cleanly and squarely
Install a hose repair coupling or connector
Secure the connector with hose clamps
Tighten the clamps firmly
Replace a damaged washer if the leak is at the fitting
Wrap threaded connections with plumber’s tape if applicable
Reattach the hose to the spigot or nozzle
Turn the water on slowly
Check for leaks
Tighten or adjust the repair if needed
Replace the hose if the damage is too severe
