Connect the PS4 to the internet
Go to Settings
Select System Software Update
Select Update Now
Wait for the download and installation to finish
Restart the PS4 if prompted
If online update fails, download the update file from Sony on a USB drive
Create folders on the USB drive named PS4 and UPDATE
Save the update file as PS4UPDATE.PUP in the UPDATE folder
Insert the USB drive into the PS4
Go to Settings
Select System Software Update
Select Update from USB Storage Device
Follow the on-screen prompts
Wait for the update to complete and restart the PS4 if prompted
