Locate the water filter cover inside the refrigerator or in the lower grille, depending on the model
Turn off the ice maker if your model requires it
Open the filter cover
Turn the old filter counterclockwise or press the release button, depending on the model
Pull the old filter straight out
Remove the protective cap from the new filter if present
Insert the new filter into the housing
Turn the new filter clockwise until it locks in place, or push it in until it clicks
Close the filter cover
Run several gallons of water through the dispenser
Flush the system until the water runs clear
Reset the filter indicator light if your model has one
Turn the ice maker back on if you turned it off
