Turn off the washer and unplug it
Locate the filter access panel at the lower front of the washer
Open the panel
Place a towel and shallow container under the filter area
Drain any remaining water using the emergency drain hose, if present
Unscrew the filter cap slowly
Remove the filter
Clear lint, debris, coins, and buildup from the filter
Rinse the filter under running water
Clean the filter housing inside the washer
Reinsert the filter
Tighten the filter cap securely
Close the access panel
Plug the washer back in
Run a test cycle to check for leaks
