Preheat oven to 300°F to 325°F
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs
Pat ribs dry with paper towels
Rub both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and brown sugar
Wrap ribs tightly in foil
Place wrapped ribs on a baking sheet
Bake for 2 to 2.5 hours for pork ribs
Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours for baby back ribs
Unwrap carefully and drain excess liquid
Brush with barbecue sauce
Increase oven to 425°F
Return ribs to oven uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes
Broil for 2 to 5 minutes for a caramelized finish
Let rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving
